Chemistry is concerned about change and, thus, chemical kinetics is one of the major constituent of chemistry. Built on the knowledge of thermodynamics and quantum chemistry you acquired in physical chemistry courses, we will learn how to describe chemical kinetics and reaction mechanism using molecular behavior in the gas phase and the condensed phase. The lecture begins with reviewing necessary mathematical tools and describing molecular motions. The rates of chemical reactions, the kinetics of complex reactions, molecular reaction dynamics will be covered.
