    This course will introduce students to current findings and thinking inplant physiologywith a focus on developmentThe role of the basicplant hormones and light in controlling morphogenesis and physiologywill be covered at the advanced levelwith an emphasis on the mostrecent findingsOral presentations from the primary literature will bea required part of student participationwith all activities inEnglishStudents will present orallyand with appropriate visual aids,a paper that they will first outline and then critique in classThiswill include analysis of what the primary questions are that wereaddressed in the paper and how far the authors went in obtaining theanswerswhat techniques were used and their appropriatenessand whatfollow-up work might beThis will be led primarily by the presenter(s),with contributions from the classand moderated and guided by theinstructor.
