    a. As Universities and governments in ASEAN and around the world continue to grapple with the response to COVID-19 including issue relating to virtual delivery of courses, assessment of online learning, and guidelines for reopening campuses among others, countries that were impacted by the pandemic early on can offer valuable lessons to help inform the strategic response for others. This webinar spotlights both Korea and ASEAN’s experience in supporting its higher education system during the COVID-19 crisis and brings together experts to discuss early lessons that have emerged and the implications for all ASEAN countries in particular. Furthermore, since the KERIS is providing ACU-OER platform to all ASEAN countries, experience on using ACU-OER platform for learning will be shared to all audiences.

  • At this presentation, I want to share Korean higher education experience during COVID-19. Firstly, I will briefly describe the Korean higher education on line education. Secondly, I will talk about Korean government’s efforts to help universities. It changed the related laws and also made University Distance Education Center(UDEC). Thirdly, I will talk about the impact of “Forced Onlin Education Experiment.” It opened us a new horizon for education. I will share my hybrid instruction experience also. I will tell you findings and gains from the experiment. Finally, I will talk about a new model of higher education, Smalog Education.

  • Indonesia's Government takes the Strategies and approaches to prepare Indonesia Higher Education Institutions (HEI's) to face and implement online learning during the study from home policy. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has taken many measures to support Indonesia HEI's to be ready to implement online learning. Since many Indonesia HEI still struggle to provide proper online learning delivery, the Government offers training to increase lecturer capacity and ability in delivery online learning. And the Government is also facilitating Learning Management System to be used by HEI with limited online infrastructure. SPADA Indonesia (Indonesia Online Learning System), established in 2014, gave the most service to provide system and platform to support HEI in implementing online learning.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has affected Thai education in all aspects. The sudden shift from teaching in the physical classroom to online mode caused chaos among teachers and students. Universities are trying to support the continuing of education during the crisis by adjusting the teaching and assessment guidelines according to the situation. Thailand Cyber University Project (TCU), under the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand, has a role in facilitating and supporting universities to utilize technology for enhancing the quality of education. The TCU’s flagship project, Thai MOOC, is the national MOOC platform that coordinates with universities to provide online courses for free to alls. Thai MOOC hosts more than 500 online courses from 100 universities and 20 public and private institutions throughout the country. More than 1.2 million members consist of students, teachers, and working people from all age range registered to learn one or more online courses. This presentation addresses TCU’s strategies to support universities and faculty members in overcoming the pandemic and facilitating universities to the new normal ways of education according to the MHESI’s Strategic Direction for Post-COVID-19 Recovery and the Thailand national education reform plan.
